We constructed an enginehouse in 2005 to protect our rolling stock and add an interesting feature to the railroad. The enginehouse is 16' x 16' x 6' and has four 15' tracks. Our engines and all other rolling stock are kept there during the summer. In the winter we move them into the basement shop so the engines will be at room temperature for easy starting when it's cold outside. There's a 90' siding off the main line that runs into the shop through a door in the basement. The shop access track has a maximum 2% grade.
Here are some pictures of the enginehouse construction.
